Adults only describes a property that does not accept children as guests, usually setting a minimum age. Some apply it to the whole resort and others to one wing or pool. The label tells you who may stay, not how quiet or private it will be.
A useful companion read is what adults-only really means.
Why does adults only matter for us?
For couples who value calm, adults-only means calmer pools and fewer shared spaces filled with children. It may cost more because the resort limits its market. The details matter: some have a minimum age that is not 18, some allow children on certain dates, and some are only adults-oriented without a firm rule.
How does adults only show up in a quote?
A page may say “Adults only, guests aged 16 and above” or “Adults-oriented, children welcome”. The first sets a rule, the second does not. Look for the exact minimum age, whether the rule covers the whole property, and whether any exceptions apply during school holidays.
What should we ask about adults only?
Put these questions to the resort or agent, and ask for the answers in writing:
- What is the minimum age, and does it apply to the whole property?
- Are there dates when children are allowed?
- Is the pool or restaurant adults-only, or only some areas?
- Is there anything on site that may not suit a Muslim couple, such as an alcohol-focused bar?
