What is each base like for two?
Senggigi sits on the west coast, facing the sunset and the Gili Islands across the water. It is the older tourist strip, with a row of hotels, small restaurants and a beach that stays fairly sheltered.
Kuta is on the south coast, with pale sand, headlands and rolling surf. It feels more open and more rural, with fewer evening options but more scenery.

Which suits how we spend an evening?
If you picture a slow walk, a table by the sea and a short stroll back, Senggigi fits. You can decide at six o’clock where to eat.
If you picture a villa, a private dinner and an early night, Kuta fits better. You will plan your meals earlier, because options are fewer once the sun goes down.
What does the airport drive do to the first day?
Lombok’s airport is in the south of the island. Kuta is the shorter drive, so you can be at the pool before lunch. Senggigi is a longer ride, and after a flight and a wedding it can feel long.

Where do Gili day trips fit?

What about halal food and prayer?

Is Lombok quieter than Bali?
