Choose the sea view if you will spend your mornings and evenings in the room, and the garden view if you will be out most of the day. Most couples sit between the two, and the middle options below cost less than the full gap.
This guide is part of our budget topic, where each room choice is weighed by use, not by the brochure.
Which couple are we?
Pick the description closest to your honeymoon rhythm.
| Couple type | A normal day looks like | Leaning |
|---|---|---|
| Slow mornings | Late breakfast on the balcony, back for rest | Sea view is worth considering |
| Out all day | Leave after breakfast, return to sleep | Garden view or lower category |
| Evening in | Dinner out, then quiet time on the balcony | Sea view only if the balcony is usable |
Ask each other honestly. The answer is more reliable than any photo.
How do we count the time in the room?
Add up the hours when you will be awake in the room and able to look out. Do not count sleeping hours or hours at the pool.
If the total is small, the view is a small share of your stay. If it is large, you may be paying for something you use every day.
What do the view words mean?
Resorts use different labels. Each one needs a question.
| Label | What it may mean | Ask |
|---|---|---|
| Sea view | Direct, full view | Which floor, and any obstruction? |
| Partial sea view | A slice between buildings or trees | Is it visible from the bed or only the balcony? |
| Ocean facing | Faces the water, not always the view | What stands in front? |
| Garden view | Looks onto planting | Is it near paths, a restaurant or a pool? |
| Pool view | Overlooks the pool | Is it noisy in the day? |
Read our note on balcony privacy, neighbours and views for the privacy side of the same question.
What are cheaper ways to get the sea?
Not every sea view needs a higher price. You can eat breakfast at a terrace with a view, walk to the water at sunset, or choose a mid-category room with a partial view.
A floor request may cost nothing or may carry a fee. Our guide on paying extra for a high-floor or corner room explains when it is free.
How does the price gap compare with other upgrades?
Place the view next to other candidates. A bathtub or a larger balcony may add more rest than a view. See bathtub, balcony and bed size for a ranking.
You can also set the gap against a shared experience. The guide on upgrading the room or spending on activities shows how.
Can we check the real view before we pay?
Ask the resort for a recent photo taken from your category, not a brochure picture. A short video from a similar room is even better.
Treat guest photos with care too. They show real angles, but they may come from a different floor.
Remember that a view you notice on day one fades by day three. Pay for what you will feel every morning, not for the first impression.
What should we do next?
- Decide which couple type you are.
- Ask the resort for the exact view from your category, in writing.
- Get the gap for your whole stay, for two.
- Send us the two options, and we will compare them with the resort’s answer.
