Early check-in means entering your room before the standard check-in time. It depends on whether the room is ready, so it is a request, not a right. Some resorts sell it as a paid option, and others try to help if the room is free.
A useful companion read is requesting early check-in.
Why does early check-in matter for us?
After a wedding and an early flight, being able to rest on arrival is worth a lot. If your flight lands in the morning, you may reach the resort hours before the standard time. Plan for the room not being ready, and ask where you can leave luggage, freshen up and have breakfast.
How does early check-in show up in a quote?
A resort page may say “Check-in from 3 pm; early check-in subject to availability”. The phrase promises nothing. A better arrangement is a confirmed early check-in or the night before booked, so the room is yours from the moment you arrive.
What should we ask about early check-in?
Put these questions to the resort or agent, and ask for the answers in writing:
- Can early check-in be confirmed in writing for our arrival time?
- Is there a charge, and what is the total for two?
- If the room is not ready, can we leave luggage and use facilities?
- Would booking the night before give us the room on arrival?

Two more pages help you check the rest: villa or hotel room for the first night and late-night arrival transfers. Send us the quote and we will go through it with you.
