You can set your own limits for a photoshoot, and a professional will respect them if you ask early and in writing. Decide who may be present, what may be shown and who may see the photos. This guide gives you request lines for each point.
It belongs to our romantic experiences topic. Couples planning a Muslim-friendly honeymoon can use it as a starting script.
Which privacy points should we decide first?
Talk together about what matters to each of you. Write the answers in two columns: must have, and nice to have.
The usual points are:
- Who is present on the day, including assistants
- The gender of the photographer
- Where the shoot takes place, and who else can see
- What is edited, and what is not shown
- Who may see or share the finished photos
What can we copy and send?
Send these lines in your booking message. Edit them to suit your needs.
| Point | Line to send |
|---|---|
| Crew | “Please tell us everyone who will be present on the day.” |
| Gender | “We would like a female photographer only. Can you confirm?” |
| Location | “We prefer a quiet spot without other visitors. Please suggest options.” |
| Dress | “We will wear long sleeves and a headscarf. Please frame accordingly.” |
| Drones | “Please do not use a drone at our session.” |
| Sharing | “Please do not post or share any images without our written consent.” |
How do we handle location and crowds?
Quiet places give you more control. A villa terrace, a private beach stretch or a garden at opening time can have fewer visitors.
If the shoot is in a public area of a resort, ask which guests may be nearby. Our page on photography in resort public areas explains what to check. For drones, see drones and guest privacy at resorts.
What about editing and who sees the photos?
Ask what the photographer edits, and where the files are stored. Request that unselected shots are not shared and are deleted after delivery.
Ask whether the photographer uses a studio assistant or an outside editor. If you need only you two to see the images, say so plainly. Our photographer booking checklist shows where to write it in the agreement.
What if the answer is vague?
“We will be discreet” is a good sign, but it is not a plan. Ask for a specific reply: who, where and what is stored.
If you do not get one after two messages, look at another provider. A clear reply protects both sides.
How should the outfit fit this?
Plan outfits around your limits before you pack. Our page on what to wear for a honeymoon photoshoot has modest options by setting.
What should we do next?
- Agree your must-have and nice-to-have points.
- Copy the lines from the table into your booking message.
- Ask for the replies in writing.
- Send us the replies, and we will check them with you before you pay.
