Request a Quiet Room and Get It

You have asked for a quiet room before, and received the room by the lift anyway.

HoneymoonQuest Editorial · Updated 2026-10-20

Send a short, specific request when you book, repeat it a few days before arrival, and mention it again at check-in. Ask the resort to confirm the room number in writing, since that is the only version you can point to later.

This guide sits in our privacy rooms topic. It gives you three scripts and a timeline.

Why do quiet requests get missed?

Requests tend to fail for three reasons. They are vague, they are late, or they sit in a booking note nobody reads.

“Quiet room please” is easy to ignore. “Away from lifts and the bar, high floor, not connecting” is easy to act on.

What should the request say?

Name what you want to avoid, and what you would like. Keep it to two sentences.

  1. State the occasion: “We are on our honeymoon.”
  2. Ask for the position: “Please place us away from lifts, ice machines, kitchens and the bar, and without a connecting door.”
  3. Ask for confirmation: “Could you confirm the room number in writing?”

The rooms to avoid on honeymoon list gives you the full set of spots to name.

When should we send each message?

WhenWhat to send
At bookingThe two-sentence request, in the notes and by message
A few days beforeA short reminder with the booking reference
On arrival dayA polite note that you are looking forward to the quiet room
At check-inRepeat the request at the desk

What is the check-in script?

Say it in a friendly tone. For example: “We sent a request for a quiet room away from the lift. Could you check where our room is?”

If the room does not match, ask: “Do you have another room of this type further from the lift or bar? We are happy to wait.”

What do we do if the room is not quiet?

Raise it on the first evening, not on the last. Resorts can usually move you early, while late requests are hard.

Note the time and the sound so you can describe it clearly. Ask for the manager if the desk cannot help.

What about connecting rooms?

If the room has a connecting door, ask for another one. Read connecting rooms and noise: what to know for the wording.

For corners and middle positions, see corner room versus middle room.

What should we do next?

  1. Write your two-sentence request.
  2. Send it with the booking and ask for the room number.
  3. Set a reminder to resend it a few days before.
  4. Share the reply with us, and we will check it for two.

Want a second pair of eyes on your plan?

Send us the resort and dates. We will write the quiet room request on your behalf, send it at the right moment and ask for the room number to be confirmed in writing.

Questions couples ask

Will a quiet room request secure the room?

No. A request is not a promise, but a clear, early and polite request is more likely to be read and acted on. Ask the resort to confirm the room number in writing, and keep the reply.

Should we pay extra for a named quiet room?

Ask what the extra fee covers. If it secures a named room category or a floor, that may be worth it. If it only adds a note, the free request may do just as well.

What if the room at check-in is still noisy?

Stay calm and ask politely for a different room of the same type before you unpack. Mention that you requested a quiet room, and offer to wait a few minutes while the desk checks.
