Decor is set up after the room is cleaned and before you check in, but the exact time depends on the resort and on your arrival. The safe move is to request it in writing, name your landing time and ask when it will be ready.
This guide belongs to our season and timing topic, because the setup is tied to the hour you arrive.
What happens behind the door?
Think of the room as moving through four stages. The decor happens at the third stage, not the first.
- The previous guest checks out.
- Housekeeping cleans and resets the room.
- The decor team sets up flowers, towels or lighting.
- The room is released for check-in.
If you arrive between stages one and three, the room is simply not ready. This is normal, and it is why early arrival and decor are linked. Our early check-in request guide covers the first half of the problem.
When should we send the request?
Send it at booking, and again about a week before you travel. The first message gets it onto the booking, and the second reminds the team.
Include these details so the team can plan:
- Your reservation number and room type.
- Your flight number and landing time.
- The style you like, and anything you want left out.
- Whether the decor is a surprise for your partner.
What should the message look like?
Use plain words. Here is a sample you can adapt.
Hello, we are booked in [room type] from [dates], reservation [number]. We will arrive about [time] on flight [number] and would like a simple honeymoon setup: fresh flowers and towel art. No candles in the room, please. Could you tell us when the setup will be done, and confirm in writing? Thank you.
The line about preferences saves a long conversation at the door.
Which kinds of setup suit which couples?
| Style | Suits | Ask about |
|---|---|---|
| Flowers and towel art only | Couples who want a quiet touch | Fresh or artificial, scent |
| Bed petals and candles | Couples who like a classic look | Fire rules, cleanup |
| Balloons and banner | Couples who like a celebration | Mess, noise, removal |
| No decor, welcome note only | Couples who prefer simple | Handwritten or printed |

What if we land before the setup is ready?
You have two choices. Wait for the room and enjoy the resort, or ask the team to finish the setup while you have lunch.
Do not expect a ready room, decor and cake at the same hour. Ask which one the resort can promise first.
Should we pay for a resort setup or do it ourselves?
A resort setup saves effort but costs money, and the quality varies. A do-it-yourself setup costs less and is more personal, but needs time on arrival.
See resort surprise add-on versus doing it yourself for how to choose.
What should we do next?
- Decide the style you want, and what to leave out.
- Send the request with your landing time.
- Ask for the setup time in writing, and save the reply.
- Send us the reply, and we will check the details and give a total for two.
