What to Send for an Accurate Quote

You want a quote you can trust, and you are not sure what the agent needs from you.

HoneymoonQuest Editorial · Updated 2026-10-20

Send ten facts in one message: dates, leave, departure airport, budget, trip style, stay type, food needs, privacy needs, special occasions and what you must have. With these, an agent can give a quote that is accurate and easy to compare.

This guide sits in our trust and enquiries topic, where we explain how to ask clearly and judge the answers.

Why do the ten facts matter?

A vague request gets a vague quote. If you send only “Bali honeymoon, how much?”, each agent has to guess, and each guess will differ.

The same ten facts let you compare quotes fairly. You can also see quickly which agent listened.

What are the ten facts?

Fill in this list, together, and send it as one message.

  1. Travel dates, and how flexible they are.
  2. Leave days you can use, including public holidays.
  3. Departure airport, such as KLIA, Penang, JB, KK or Kuching.
  4. Budget range or ceiling for the whole trip, for two.
  5. Destination shortlist, or the mood you want.
  6. Type of stay: beach resort, pool villa, city hotel, or a mix.
  7. Food needs: halal, vegetarian, allergies.
  8. Privacy and comfort needs, such as prayer space, a private pool or a quiet room.
  9. Any occasion, such as a nikah, registration or anniversary, and any perks you hope for.
  10. Your must-haves and deal-breakers.

Our quote brief builder turns this list into a ready message.

What does a good message look like?

Keep it short and clear. Use plain words and list the facts in order.

Here is a sample.

“We are a couple from Penang. We have six days of leave in March, flexible by a week.

Budget for the whole trip is our ceiling, including flights. We like a quiet beach and need halal food. We would like a pool villa if the budget allows.”

What should the agent send back?

A useful quote shows a total for two, not only a nightly rate. It lists the room type, meal plan, transfers, taxes and the cancellation rule.

Ask for the same layout from every agent. Our guide on comparing quotes on the same basis shows how to line them up.

What else should we ask?

Add a few questions at the end:

  • Is the quote valid for a stated period?
  • What is the deposit and when is it due?
  • What is the cancellation and change rule?
  • Which items are not included?

What should we do next?

  1. Sit together and fill in the ten facts tonight.
  2. Check the budget with the honeymoon budget calculator.
  3. Send the same message to the agents you are comparing.
  4. Send it to us too, and we will come back with options and a total for two.

Want a second pair of eyes on your plan?

Fill in the ten points and send them to us in one message. We will come back with options, a total for two and the trade-offs, in writing.

Questions couples ask

Do we need to know exactly where we want to go?

No. A shortlist of two or three places works, and so does a mood such as quiet beach or easy city. Tell us your leave dates and budget range, and we can suggest options for two.

Should we share our full budget?

Share a range or a ceiling for the whole trip, including flights. It lets the agent choose the right level of room and avoid showing options you cannot use. You can say what you would stretch for, and what you would not.

Why do quotes look so different from each other?

Usually because the inputs differ: room type, meal plan, transfers, taxes or dates. Sending the same ten facts to every agent keeps the quotes comparable, and our comparison guide shows how to line them up.

Plan the trip you both want

Tell us your dates, budget and what matters to you both. We reply with options that fit, and the decision stays yours.
