- Start with your leave days.
- Subtract half a day each for flying out and flying home.
- Subtract another half day if you land late or must change transport.
- Keep one morning clear to recover.

What suits a very short break?

What about a week of leave?
A week lets you climb the ladder. Bali, Da Nang or Taipei become reasonable, as long as you stay in one place. A second base adds a transfer day, which eats into the gain.
Match the rung to how you feel after the wedding. If you are still tired, the middle rungs ask less of you than a long haul.
How does arrival time change the answer?
A short flight that lands at midnight can cost as much as a longer one that lands at lunch. Check the times for both directions.
