An activity voucher is worth what you can redeem on your dates. If it has blackout days, a short expiry or a booking step you miss, it can be worth much less than it looks. Ask for the terms before you count it in the package value.
This guide belongs to our package evaluation topic. It follows a voucher from the moment you book to your final two days.
Stage 1: what do we ask before booking?
Start with the voucher itself. Ask what it covers, what it does not, and whether it is for two people or per person.
Then ask for the expiry. It may end at checkout, on a calendar date, or after a set number of days from booking. Our guide on blackout dates in packages explains the other half of the rule.
Stage 2: what do we confirm on arrival?
Check that the voucher appears on your booking record. Ask the front desk where activities are booked, and note the operating hours.
Ask whether activities need a minimum number of guests or a fixed start time. Some run only on certain days of the week.
Stage 3: when in the stay should we use it?
Use the first voucher early. A slot booked on day two leaves room to rebook if weather cancels it. A slot booked on the last day leaves you nothing to fall back on.
Write down which vouchers apply to which day, and tick them off as you use them.
Stage 4: what happens in the last two days?
Unused vouchers are lost here. Ask on day three from the end what is left, and book anything still possible. After checkout, a voucher is usually gone.
Some resorts let you swap a voucher for a different activity of similar value. Ask early, not at the front desk on the day you leave.
What is an unused voucher worth?
Use this simple method.
| Voucher status | How to count it |
|---|---|
| Terms confirmed, dates open | Count it at full stated value |
| Terms unclear | Count it as zero until confirmed |
| Blackout covers your dates | Count it as zero |
| Redeemable but you will not use it | Count it as zero |
If you will not use an activity, it is not a saving. A voucher for something you would never pay for is only a bonus on paper.
How do we compare packages with vouchers?
Compare the vouchers against what you would book yourself. If two packages cost the same and one includes a voucher you will use, that one has more value. Our package comparer tool lets you list inclusions side by side.

What should we do next?
- List each voucher and what it covers.
- Ask for expiry, blackout dates and the booking step.
- Book the first activity early in your stay.
- Check the leftover vouchers three days before checkout.
- Send us the package if you want the terms checked for you.
