A good special request is short, specific and polite, and it ends by asking the resort to confirm. Write it so that a front-desk team can act on it in one reading. Then keep what you asked and what they replied in two separate places.
This guide belongs to our booking requests topic, where wishes are turned into written arrangements.
What makes a request easy to act on?
Resort teams read a stack of notes in a day. A request that names the date, the room and the one thing you want gets attention.
- Open with your reservation number and dates.
- Say the occasion once.
- List a few items, one per line.
- Ask for a written reply.
What does a booking-form note look like?
Booking forms have small boxes, so use one tight line.
Honeymoon stay, [dates]. Requests: quiet room away from lift, flowers on arrival, halal meals if possible. Please confirm by email.
The word “please confirm” matters. It tells the team you are not only informing them, you are asking for an answer.
What does an email look like?
An email can carry more detail. This sample is easy to adapt.
Hello, we are booked in [room type] from [dates], reservation [number]. We are celebrating our honeymoon and would be grateful for the following, in this order: 1. a quiet room away from the lift; 2. fresh flowers in the room on arrival; 3. a halal-friendly welcome item. Our flight lands at [time]. Could you tell us which of these you can confirm, and which are noted only? Thank you.
The final question is the useful one. It invites a clear split.
What does a short chat message look like?
For WhatsApp or a chat box, keep it to three lines. Here is a sample.
Hi, reservation [number], [dates]. Honeymoon trip. Could you confirm a quiet room, flowers on arrival and a halal-friendly welcome item? Landing at [time].
How do we keep requested and confirmed apart?
Use a two-column list in your notes. In the left column, write what you asked for. In the right, write the resort’s exact reply and the date it arrived.
| We requested | Resort reply |
|---|---|
| Quiet room away from lift | “Noted, subject to availability” |
| Flowers on arrival | “Confirmed, set up before 3 p.m.” |
| Halal-friendly welcome | “Will advise” |
Only the second row is firm. See honeymoon request versus confirmed arrangement for which phrases count.
When should we follow up?
Send a gentle reminder about a week before arrival. Quote your first message so the thread is easy to find.
If the reply stays vague, use the email template to confirm honeymoon perks. For a specific wish such as a quiet room, our guide to requesting a quiet room and getting it goes further.
What should we do next?
- Pick the top three wishes and rank them.
- Send one version of the message to the resort and keep a copy.
- Record each reply in the two-column list.
- Send us the list, and we will word it, follow up and give a total for two.
